ZE recently had the opportunity to participate in the Simon Fraser University (SFU) OPFair 2013 for computer science students and graduates. The high tech career fair proved to be a valuable opportunity to create brand recognition and scout for new talent.
Being an industry-specific international company, ZE relishes the opportunity to make an impression on the general public, especially when it gives us the chance to meet with students and potential future employees, as well as members of our client pool in nearby Vancouver.
During the two days SFU hosted ZE along with a number other companies including Apple, BC Hydro and Microsoft. The opportunity to interact on a face-to-face basis meant we were able to accept more than 70 applications. Twelve of the applicants were contacted and invited to an interview within three days of the event. We hired two junior business analysts and an application support analyst.
By participating in job fairs and other local school events, ZE is able to continue its proud tradition of investing in interns, co-op students, and student trainees—employees who we find bring with them a certain level of enthusiasm, creativity and innovation to the work place. Both ZE and post-secondary educational institutions benefit from the partnership, and for students and new graduates just entering the work force, we all know that industry experience is invaluable. ZE believes in developing raw talent and investing in the future of a skilled work force.
For anyone interesting in learning more about working with ZEMA, there will be an opportunity this Thursday, March 21, when we will be setting up our ‘virtual’ booth for the SFU online career Fair (from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m). For further information click here.
